Our ARRL Section has our very first Hiram Percy Maxim Award recipient. Katherine Forson KT5KMF will be honored at a small reception in Plano on the September 20th. She will be presented The Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Award and a check for $1500 from the ARRL.
Katherine is the first ever North Texan to receive this prestigious award. If you would like to attend this award ceremony and bring your son, daughter or grandkids that are an amateur radio op, just drop me an email for details.
The presentation will be conducted by ARRL division Director John Robert Stratton N5AUS and myself, with a boat load of assistance provided by the Plano Amateur Radio Klub (PARK).
>Space is limited<
Please remember I am available to attend your ARRL affiliated Club meetings, virtually held or in person. Simply ask a club officer to email an attendance request to me and I will find a hole in my calendar. I always bring a door prize or two and a presentation if your club’s officer request one. I will be available before and after the meeting for questions, comments etc.
Members are always welcome to call or email me at KG5VK@ARRL.NET. If you call, please leave a message with the subject title. As most everyone does, I screen calls to isolate myself from robot junk callers. I will return your call.
While we are now embracing cooler temps in the morning hours, summer is not yet gone. If working outside please remember to take breaks from the heat and stay hydrated.
