Welcome to ARRL North Texas!

Thank you for stopping by the ARRL North Texas Section website. We have many things going on in our section that represent the full spectrum of what amateur radio has to offer.

We continually update this site to provide you with as much NTX information as possible.

I am Chris Brewer – N5GMJ and as of 5/1/2013, I became the new Section Manager for the ARRL North Texas Section. I became a licensed operator in June of 1983 at the young age of 14.  Amateur Radio has been a big part of my life pretty much ever since.  For those that don’t know me, my most recent interests have been geared around digital communications around APRS and D-Star.  However I also love operating the HF bands as well – especially during the ARRL Field Day event.  I also currently work for a medical software company as a Senior Software Engineer.

I am very happy and privileged to have been recommended for appointment by Walt Mayfield – KE5SOO who has done an outstanding job during his tenure as Section Manager.  I can personally say he will be missed.

I wanted to thank everyone for all of the encouraging messages I have received over these past weeks with regard to my new appointment.  It is an honor to be appointed and I look forward to getting started.  However I also want to say… please bear with me as I take over the position.  I have already learned a lot about the position through emails and conversations with Walt.  But no doubt, I haven’t picked it all up yet.  But if anyone ever has any questions about something I am doing or should be doing that I am not, please don’t hesitate to call or send an email to let me know.

Again I look forward to serving the Ham’s of North Texas!

Chris Brewer – N5GMJ
